Dr. Nancy Commins, Clinical Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado Denver, has worked with students from diverse backgrounds in a variety of capacities over four decades.
She has been a classroom teacher, university professor, program director, school district administrator and independent consultant assisting schools to improve instruction for multilingual learners. She is co-author of two books Linguistic Diversity and Teaching (Lawrence Erlbaum) and Restructuring Schools for Linguistic Diversity: Linking Decision Making to Effective Programs (Teachers College Press). She is also a Senior Fellow at the University of Turku in Finland.
